Forest School Sessions

We believe the best kind of learning happens outside—with mud on your hands, stories around the fire, and room to roam.

Nurturing Nature

At Mycosia we are passionate about delivering inspiring Forest School sessions that nurture confidence, creativity, and a lifelong connection to the natural world. Led by Brendan, a certified Forest School practitioner, our sessions are designed for children and young people, with activities tailored to their age, ability, and setting.

Activities are seasonal and hands-on, encouraging children to develop both practical and social skills. These include fire building and lighting, safe tool use (including saws, axes, drills, mallets, and knives), shelter building, cooking over the fire, making seasonal food and drink, nature crafts, foraging, composting, plant and animal identification, and plant growing.

We work in partnership with schools, parks, and community organisations to offer flexible, nature-based learning programmes. Whether it's a regular weekly session, a short-term block, or a one-off event, we create a safe and supportive outdoor environment for young people.

Through our Forest School work, we aim to widen access to meaningful outdoor experiences—especially for those with limited opportunities—and to empower children and young people to care for themselves, each other, and the environment.
